Zenith Project: Trial-Moderator - Retired due to life becoming overwhelming.
Do you have any in Server Warnings?
Nope.
Describe a time where you showed leadership or decision making: On Specter Networks I was HMO For a while and often had to make decisions and rulings that reached further than my job description, However I kept the Medical branch alive and working properly up until the shutdown of the server.
Name 3 bad qualities about yourself that you wish to improve on:
1. I’m too Logical sometimes, I sometimes fail to look at the emotional value of what is going on and in turn might make harsh or almost rude choices, which in turn could offend somebody.
2. I crack jokes in tense situations commonly, Most times this isn’t an issue and doesn’t happen during Staff sits but can still be a bit annoying at times.
3. I sometimes freeze up in certain situations and become uncertain of my choices, in those moments I find myself sometimes asking fellow Staff to review something for a second pair of eyes to help determine if I’m right or wrong.
How would you de-escalate an argument happening in server:
It entirely depends on the severity of the argument, and if it breaches any server rules. Either way I would inform them to take the argument to DM’s as to avoid flooding OOC Chat with unwanted arguing. If a rule is broken (Such as hate speech.) I would take the appropriate action and administer the punishment needed. If they didn’t breach any rules but continued arguing in OOC after I told them to bring it to DM’s I would chat mute them for a small time frame, roughly 5-6 minutes. As to give them a chance to cool off. Further arguing in OOC From them would result in longer Chat mutes.
A player is caught team killing for no apparent reason. Upon questioning, the user states that they killed their own friend and got verbal permission from them over call, however the other user isn't available to give their statement (because they left the game.)
Looking at the offender's profile, you find that they have some warnings related to team killing weeks/months ago.
How do you proceed?
I would take the time to do some small research, doing things such as checking their steam profile (If it wasn’t private.) to see if that user was on their friends list, or check the logs to see if they often arrived around similar times, I would also see if the warnings were against this person often as well, If it was this would potentially be harassment, as other Staff have deemed they weren’t friends. I would bring that up with a higher staff but for now focus on the Team killing, Considering they have some warnings against Team Killing and I could not gather the information from the victim, I would put in a request to speak with them via something like Discord, and temporarily administer the proper punishment, Once the statement was taken from the Victim and they were either determined to be a friend or the aggressor was lying would result in different actions, If they were a friend I’d bring up removing the punishment with higher staff and making some form of note that these two are friends. Though give them a warning not to TK During RP hours.
A player makes a ticket to say another user has been harassing them in-game through voice and local chat. They provide a short clip that shows the accused using insulting or inappropriate language. You approach the situation, but the reporting player refuses to give more details or answer follow-up questions.
How do you proceed?
Well, there is evidence provided that they had been insulted and harassed via Voice chat as well as local chat, I would check the logs to see what Local chat looked like, What was said between the two? Was it OOC? Was it IC? If it was overly aggressive even IC I would give a warning to the player to cool it down. However, if this harassment was OOC? I would administer the proper punishment. Thankfully due to the evidence provided and logs a case can still be gathered and put together. However if the reporter had been egging on the other to incite aggressive behavior, I would bring this up with higher ups, as that is also harassment.
You receive a report that a CMD member has been adding and removing players from department whitelists without valid reason. Logs confirm they removed several players and added others without following proper procedure or logging it anywhere. When questioned, the CMD gives vague responses like “I thought it was fine” or doesn’t respond at all.
How do you proceed?
This actually sounds much more like an RP issue than a staff issue. I would bring it up with Site Administration (Such as Site Head) Or anybody of higher ranking structure. Essentially going to their boss. I’d inform them of what was going on with this CMD and how they are not properly following the proper procedure. Then let them handle the situation, If it were to turn into OOC Hostility however I would be ready to act.
I swear that I told the truth, as well I swear that I did not use the assistance of generative AI or gain answers from a staff member/ex-staff member. I swear that I told the truth and did not use AI. or Ex/Current Staff.
